We have a grade A rainy day. The kettle is set to boil, the dogs are expecting more from life, and the bicycles are sleeping. One might ask, “What do the Roaming Gallivants do on a day such as this?” Well, the answer is, “Whatever the hell we want, except for go outside!” That being said, Hall sent me this great link of two young Norwegian boys who took up a great adventure. What better way to spend a lazy day than to watch other people do fun and exciting things. We also signed up for this: Win a Trip to the Giro d’Italia Read more at here! We figured that winning sweepstakes would be a fun and inexpensive way to get to travel to exciting destinations. Of course, the real way to travel is through hard work and diligence… HAH! Whatever, we will take free whenever we can. There is always some work to do somewhere if you really want it. We are working towards our trip and the field of dreams style of book a flight and the money will come will work for sure; we hope.
We’re trying to figure out how to raise some money for our next trip. Juggling borderline, not so rich as we would like, with international trips is turning out to be quite a challenge. Speaking of not being rich, I found this other sweepstakes sponsored by Team Colavita. Sign Up if you want a chance at going to Puglia for free. I never seem to win a damn thing but I try anyway. From time to time I cruise the net and look for fun things to win. I must admit that the idea of flying off to distant locales always gets my mind spinning in the right gear to make it happen because I’m pretty sure the TANSTAAFL rule applies to me more than most.
Hall here:
Whilst Zachary is busy at home making tea, I’ve been getting a nice brisket ready for Texas Style brisket! The brisket is aged over thirty days and now I have pumped it with a beef broth and laid it in a broth and beer marinade. Tomorrow I will start the cooking…….how long will it take? Time will tell…it’s small, only 8 pounds….
My other endeavor today is to develop a gluten free cannoli shell. I have a superb recipe made with wheat flour, but Amy is off gluten, so I need to come up with a GF recipe…. I’ll keep you posted!
