I found one of my old video cameras in my car. A flip Video Model F260G. This little camera was made right before the iPhone came out and seemed to be revolutionary in its ease of use (at least to me anyway). I used the hell out of this camera for several months and really liked it. In the spirit of the Roaming Gallivants I decided to get some new batteries and take it for a spin as a daily Vlog selfie cam. One might ask, “Zachary, Why would I care about some old camera you found under your seat?”
I would reply, “Why? because it’s cheap and totally serviceable, thats why!”
We can’t all afford $400 iPhones or fancy camcorders. I checked on Ebay and found these for sale. Ebay – Flip Video Cameras for sale
The real trick with making enjoyable video is in the editing. It doesn’t matter how good the camera is if one can’t properly edit the footage. I have a lot to learn about both. I am enjoying the process and feel I get a little closer to pro with every video we put out. Well, not pro but at least novice…
We have been making a general nuisance of ourselves every where we go around town poking our cameras into peoples faces and asking questions about random topics. I sense the allure of the documentary filmmaker and the video journalist at every turn. I am enjoying editing, being in front of, and behind the camera just as much.

*The eastern style kohl (eyeliner) pot that I am using in the video is called a Surmadani. There are a lot for sale on eBay and Etsy. The powder is called surma or kajal. I purchased the powder at a Lebanese store in Charlotte NC. I have a small bottle which will last years! it can be purchased online. **Note I am not sure how much of this stuff is lead so use it at your own peril, I do.
